Chief brand alchemist

Hey, I’m Ian Voakes. I’m the founder of Voakhaus and a longtime chef and business owner turned brand strategist.

Before starting Voakhaus, I led marketing, advertising, and promotional efforts for McDonald’s across the Rocky Mountain region, overseeing full-service marketing strategy, and creative. Helping one of the largest brands in the world grow, connect with real people, and tell better stories. Along the way, I realized what really lights me up is building things, whether it’s a brand that feels true to its core or a strategy that actually works in the real world.

Now, I help small businesses and startups turn their ideas into brands that feel real, human, and built to last. Whether you need a consultant, a strategist to help you launch with purpose, a rebrand that connects authentically with your customers, a sounding board, or someone who’s been around the block a few times, that’s where I come in.

When I'm not working, you’ll find me with my wife and daughter, exploring the mountains the way I think they’re meant to be explored, safely, and with plenty of snack breaks. No cliffs, no bikes, no bear encounters, just fresh air, good conversations, and a healthy respect for nature and gravity. I will forever be testing recipes looking for the next best bite while exploring the local restaurant scene. If you’re looking for someone who’s serious about the work but knows when to laugh, you’re in the right place.

Let’s build something together.

chief curiosity officer

Hi, I’m Raquel Voakes. I’m a visual artist, educator, and creative collaborator who believes in the power of story, light, and connection.

My background is rooted in fine art and photography, but my work has always gone beyond the frame, into teaching, coaching, research, and helping others. Over the years, I’ve worked with clients and communities to explore visual identity, navigate life transitions, and uncover what matters most. Whether I’m working with a student, a brand, or a fellow creative, my goal is always the same: to create space for growth, beauty, and authenticity.

These days, I partner with people and organizations who are looking for more intention in their work. Whether that means creative direction, visual storytelling, or simply a thought partner who brings both thoughtfulness and strategy to the table.

Outside of work, I’m happiest with my family, chasing light through a lens, getting lost in research rabbit holes, or turning everyday moments into little rituals. I believe in art as a tool for advocacy, in learning as a lifelong practice, and in the kind of relationships where people feel seen.

If you’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, creativity, and care to everything she touches, I’d love to connect.
